As a Retail Security Guard, you will be the person helping create a safe and welcoming shopping experience by monitoring activity, preventing theft, responding to incidents, and supporting both customers and store staff in a busy retail setting.

Requirements

Be authorized to work in Canada
Hold a valid BC security license
First aid certification - an asset
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm in high-pressure or emergency situations.
Must be reliable, punctual, and adhere to professional conduct at all times.
Capable of standing/walking for extended periods.
Strong report writing skills
Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
Strong proficiency with technology
Ability to stand and walk throughout shift

Responsibilities

Monitor the retail environment and security systems to detect suspicious activity or potential theft
Respond quickly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, or safety concerns
Document observed events and incidents by completing accurate and detailed reports
Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the store to help maintain a safe and secure environment
Control access to restricted or staff-only areas and verify visitor or contractor identification when required
Identify potential safety, security, or operational concerns and report them to management
Work closely with store leadership, emergency services, and law enforcement during serious incidents or emergencies
