About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed and used to improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable app on their mobile phone and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned.

Associates perform in-store data collection at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Weekly work includes scanning displays throughout the store, which can take several hours, and may include Custom Projects requested by clients. These projects occur almost every week and can add 1–2 hours per store in those weeks. Associates must report to stores within specified deadlines and deliver dependable, accurate work. The role offers workplace independence and some flexibility in scheduling, with continuous physical activity throughout the workday.

This is a permanent part-time position averaging 4–6 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional project hours are frequently assigned throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. Routes cover grocery and convenience stores in Chicago, Evergreen Park, and Chicago Ridge, Illinois. The position pays $18 per hour, and travel time is paid at the hourly rate minus the first and last 15 minutes.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
