About The Position

The Retail Scan Associate performs weekly in-store data collection at assigned local retailers throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Using a downloadable app on a mobile phone, the associate scans barcodes in locations throughout each store and reports quantities for about 45% of scanned products. Weekly work includes scanning displays throughout the store, with Custom Projects for more specific product details requested by clients occurring almost every week and typically adding 1–2 hours per store in those weeks. Associates must meet store deadlines and deliver accurate data while working independently. The position provides workplace independence and some flexibility in scheduling, with continuous physical activity during shifts.

This permanent part-time position averages 3–5 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The listed route includes a grocery store in Joliet, Illinois, available Wednesday or Thursday, and a mass merchandise store in Joliet, available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
