About The Position

Empire Distributors Inc, a leading beverage distributor, is seeking a Retail Sales Representative for their sales territory in Forsyth County. This role involves servicing and maintaining current accounts, identifying prospective customers, and traveling through the assigned territory to solicit orders, sell displays, and handle product issues. The representative will also be responsible for quoting prices, resolving customer problems, and maintaining communication with various internal teams and drivers. Additionally, the role requires executing sales plans, tracking progress, participating in supplier work-withs, maintaining product knowledge, delivering emergency orders, attending trade shows, and conducting business in compliance with laws.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and State Sales Permit
  • Knowledge of Order processing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain current accounts with orders and provide prompt, courteous customer service, including attending and participating in store resets as required.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, sell displays, present items for distribution, and handle damages and off-condition product.
  • Quote prices and credit terms for orders obtained.
  • Handle various local chain responsibilities, including cluster sales and price submissions as assigned by Manager.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Confer with District Manager to resolve customer problems.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
  • Identify and respond to customers' needs.
  • Maintain frequent and open communication with drivers, driver supervisors, district manager, sales managers, and the general manager.
  • Execute sales plans and maintain accounts according to company standards.
  • Track and report progress of goals on a weekly basis and/or as requested.
  • Participate in supplier work-withs.
  • Continually maintain training and product knowledge.
  • Deliver emergency orders when needed.
  • Attend trade shows.
  • Conduct business according to local and state laws.
