About The Position

A very fast-growing, vertically integrated Grower/Packer/Shipper in the Southeast is in growth mode. Seeking experienced sales talent to develop and manage contracted retail sales programs for dry veg commodities (peppers, cucumbers, green beans, squash, eggplant, tomatoes). Our client has their own farms as well as a strong grower network throughout the Southeast and Midwest. This is an exciting, newly created opportunity with a company that’s grown over $60M in the last 2 years. This position can be based in Southwest Florida (preferred), with relocation assistance available if needed. They will also entertain remote-based talent, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Successful retail sales background in dry veg commodities (peppers, cucumbers, green beans, squash, eggplant, tomatoes) is required.
• Successful track record developing and managing contracted sales programs is also a must.
• Working knowledge of fresh market trends, swings and competition along with an understanding of fresh produce supply base, production, and operations.

Nice To Haves

• College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study desired, or relevant experience in the produce industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage new direct sales with new or underdeveloped retail customers.
• Prospect and develop new retail sales programs that grow volume and returns for commodities sold.
• Be point of contact for team and customers for product availability, pricing, quality, delivery, etc.
• Work closely with the team on pricing and inventory to meet sales goals.
