The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for growing sales of Tasty Brands' hot- and cold-deli category in retail and select c-stores. This role develops and expands relationships with regional and national grocery retailers, deli directors, category managers, and store operations teams to increase distribution, merchandising, promotional activity, and overall sales performance. The successful candidate has experience selling into grocery deli departments and understands prepared foods, grab-and-go meals, bakery, sandwiches, sliders, hand pies, heat-and-eat items, or similar fresh food categories. This position combines strategic account management with hands-on field execution to ensure products are properly merchandised and positioned for success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of grocery retail sales experience.
  • Experience selling into grocery deli departments.
  • Proven history of growing retail food sales.
  • Experience managing regional or national grocery accounts.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel 40–60%.

Responsibilities

  • Grow retail deli sales through existing and new grocery customers.
  • Identify opportunities to expand product assortment and distribution.
  • Develop annual sales plans for assigned accounts.
  • Meet or exceed sales and profitability goals.
  • Build strong relationships with Deli Directors, Category Managers, Merchandising Teams, Store Operations, and Regional Managers.
  • Conduct regular business reviews.
  • Present new products and category recommendations.
  • Visit stores to evaluate product placement, merchandising, pricing, promotional execution, and product quality.
  • Recommend improvements to increase sales.
  • Ensure planograms and merchandising standards are executed.
  • Analyze sales trends and shopper behavior.
  • Recommend product mix improvements.
  • Identify seasonal opportunities.
  • Develop merchandising and promotional programs.
  • Monitor competitive activity.
  • Prospect regional grocery chains.
  • Develop relationships with independent retailers.
  • Work with distributors and brokers to expand market penetration.
  • Present product demonstrations and customer tastings.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service.
