Position Summary The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for leading the grocery, liquor, coffee bar, frozen, and dairy departments (if applicable), ensuring operational excellence, strong merchandising execution, and outstanding customer service. This role provides total store coverage in the absence of the Assistant Store Director or Store Director, and plays a key role in driving sales, maintaining product quality and freshness, and developing a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Prior retail or grocery leadership experience preferred
  • Experience supervising teams and managing operations
  • Knowledge of merchandising, inventory control, and customer service standards
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to support physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting, stacking, and maneuvering items up to approximately 55lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of assigned departments, ensuring product quality, freshness, availability, and effective merchandising standards.
  • Deliver exceptional, personalized customer service and foster a customer-first culture throughout the store.
  • Resolve customer concerns and ensure a positive shopping experience that builds loyalty.
  • Supervise and develop department associates, including training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Oversee ordering, inventory management, and stock levels to maximize sales and minimize shrink.
  • Execute merchandising plans and maintain in-stock conditions aligned with company standards.
  • Supervise night crew operations, including productivity, training, and implementation of company initiatives.
  • Maintain operational standards including cleanliness, safety, compliance, and company policies.
  • Provide leadership and support across the store and step into full store coverage as needed.
  • Drive team engagement through positive leadership, recognition, and clear communication.
  • With this role, there is a possibility of being transferred to a neighboring store as needed.
