About The Position

This position supports the Retail Manager, Assistant Manager, and Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory Store. The Retail Sales Lead will help coach and guide customer care standards with the retail staff, acting as a leading example in providing world-class customer service. Responsibilities include ensuring cash registers are correctly set up with adequate change, performing daily deposits, communicating inventory needs to the warehouse team, and delivering timely and accurate customer care for personalized orders. The role involves daily interaction with customers to gather product insights and monitor customer care standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years related to retail experience.
  • Successfully managed other team members directly or indirectly.
  • Goal oriented and results proven.
  • Exceptional and measurable customer focus and intuitiveness when problem solving with regards to customer satisfaction.
  • Strong merchandising, visual presentation.
  • Practicable application and daily use of Retail POS system and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Access).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and builds on customer care standards by acting as a leading example in store.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures of the Museum Store.
  • Provides daily support regarding store operational requirements by assigning employee tasks and following up on daily goals and objectives.
  • Provides daily task lists, reports, or communicates product fulfillment needs to retail associates, ensuring product availability.
  • Assists in training new hires when requested.
  • Assists in daily cash register audits and safe audits to maintain cash handling accountability standards.
  • Balances cash drawers and handles store deposits.
  • Checks and assists with personalized bat ordering sources (phone and walk-in) and promptly fulfills orders accurately and timely.
  • Acts as retail manager on duty (MOD) when Retail Manager, assistant retail manager, and supervisor are not present.
  • Supports Retail Manager, Assistant Manager, and Supervisor in training new hires.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Ensures safe and proper handling of store equipment.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the brand by complying with legal requirements, company policies, and marketing direction.
  • Acts as a team player within the retail department and companywide.
