About The Position

Since 1972, Bass Pro Shops has turned a love of the outdoors into a retail adventure like no other. Now that legend is coming to the Finger Lakes: our brand-new Outpost opens at Eastview Mall in Victor, NY this year, and we're building the founding team to bring it to life. As a Sales Outfitter, you'll be one of the friendly faces who helps introduce your community to a store built to celebrate the region's sporting heritage — and you'll be part of the story from day one. Full Time & Part Time positions available in departments such as Fishing & Fly Fishing, Camping, Hunting & Archery, Marine & Water Sport, Camo & Apparel, Footwear, Mens’ & Womens’ & Gifts, CLUB, and Santa's Wonderland (seasonal).

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
High School education or equivalent experience
A friendly, can-do attitude and comfort talking with all kinds of customers
Basic math skills for discounts, change and register transactions
A team-player mindset and knack for building good working relationships
Comfort learning and using our point-of-sale system
Constantly on your feet, standing and walking the sales floor
Regularly lifts and moves items up to 20 lbs; occasionally up to 100+ lbs with a team lift
Occasional use of ladders/stairs, hand tools or equipment, and driving as needed
Some exposure to noise and tight spaces while restocking

Responsibilities

Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
Demonstrates product to customers.
Replenishes product on shelves as required per Merchandising guidelines.
Remains Product “expert” through ongoing product knowledge training in their department.
Remains knowledgeable of advertised sales; maintains pricing and signing.
Assists with “Seasonal” floor merchandise moves.
Restocks merchandise as required.
Santa's Wonderland Outfitters provide a magical, family-friendly seasonal guest experience, including photo and visit operations.
Keeps work area clean, neat and well stocked with supplies.
Follows all Company Policies and Procedures.
Provides a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions by: identifying and evaluating customers' needs, making product recommendations based off of this analysis, promoting programs including, but not limited to CLUB Membership, VOC and In-Store Pick-up.
