About The Position
EZPawn is hiring a Retail Sales Associate, also described as a Retail Customer Service Representative (Pawnbroker), at its Texas City, Texas location. The role provides daily customer interaction, helping customers with sales and reaching mutually satisfying agreements involving pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to create a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer environment. New team members begin as trainees in a paid five-week training program. Upon successful completion, they receive a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Further career development is available through a Pawnbroker Certification Program, with an additional $1-per-hour increase, opportunities to become a Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Manager), and a Store Manager in Training program that includes 12 weeks of training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, positive, outgoing, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
- Adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of commonly pawned items such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
- Sales background.
- Bilingual ability.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service in person and by phone.
- Interact with customers and help reach mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items.
- Process sales, loans, and extensions.
- Perform store opening and closing duties.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
