About The Position

Retail Sales Associates help New Balance retail stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. They use expert product knowledge and proper selling techniques to assist customers throughout every step of the transaction process while positively representing the New Balance brand. The role includes greeting customers, understanding their needs, educating them about product features and benefits, resolving questions or problems, and completing sales. Associates also help maintain a neat, organized, well-stocked sales floor; ensure products are correctly labeled and price marked; protect merchandise; and follow safety procedures.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to flourish in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to quickly perform basic math.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 pounds frequently and a maximum of 8 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to move product boxes up to 50 pounds, with assistance if necessary.
• Ability to kneel or squat frequently, stand for extended periods, climb ladders occasionally, and climb and descend stairs frequently depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using product knowledge, proper selling techniques, and the GUEST service model: greet customers, understand their needs, educate them about product features and benefits, solve problems or answer questions, and transact sales through suggestive selling, multiple selling, and effective closing.
• Correctly measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Keep the sales floor neat, organized, and well stocked.
• Ensure items are labeled and price marked properly.
• Protect products by greeting customers, attaching and detaching security tags, monitoring floor merchandise, and reporting shrinkage and security violations.
• Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and report accidents and near misses promptly.
