About The Position
EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member (Pawnbroker) for its EZPawn store in Harvey, Illinois. The role provides daily customer interaction in a fast-paced retail environment, helping customers with sales and reaching mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to provide a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer experience. New hires start as trainees in a five-week paid training program; successful completion brings a promotion to Pawnbroker and a $0.50-per-hour raise. Employees can pursue Pawnbroker Certification for an additional $1 per hour, then explore promotion to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader) or Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager pathway includes a six-month training program. The stated pay range is $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience, with monthly uncapped bonuses based on store and individual performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, positive, outgoing, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test after a conditional offer.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
- Sales background.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service in person and by phone.
- Interact with customers and assist with sales, loans, and extensions involving pawn items.
- Perform store opening and closing duties.
