About The Position

Retail Sales Associates help New Balance retail stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. Using expert product knowledge and proper selling techniques, they assist customers throughout each step of the transaction process while positively representing the New Balance brand.

The role involves greeting and assisting customers, understanding their needs, educating them about product features and benefits, resolving questions or problems, and completing sales. Associates also measure and fit customers, communicate promotions, maintain an organized and well-stocked sales floor, protect merchandise, and follow safety procedures. This is a seasonal position at the Fashion Valley, California retail location.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to perform basic math quickly.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 lbs. frequently and a maximum of 8 lbs. occasionally; move product boxes up to 50 lbs. with assistance if necessary; kneel or squat frequently; stand for extended periods; climb ladders occasionally; and climb and descend stairs frequently depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using proper selling techniques, product knowledge, and the GUEST service model: greet customers, understand their needs, educate them about products, solve problems or answer questions, and transact sales through suggestive selling, multiple selling, and effective closing.
• Measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Keep the sales floor neat, organized, well stocked, and looking its best.
• Ensure items are properly labeled and price marked.
• Protect products by greeting customers, attaching or detaching security tags, monitoring floor merchandise, and reporting shrinkage and security violations.
• Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and promptly report accidents and near misses.
