About The Position

The Wellness Advisor at Sunnyside advises recreational and medicinal customers and caregivers on selecting cannabis products suited to their needs, while representing the company’s mission to normalize, professionalize, and revolutionize cannabis. The role uses customer service, product knowledge, and compliance with state regulations to provide a high-quality customer experience throughout the customer lifecycle, from check-in and consultation through order fulfillment and checkout. Compliance with applicable state and company regulations is central to the work. Employees receive opportunities to learn cannabis product knowledge and industry compliance standards, training for varied customer interactions, and experience using a consultative, personalized sales approach. The role also combines problem-solving, inventory management, teamwork, technical skills, and customer service. Dispensaries are typically open seven days a week. Part-time schedules are 15–25 hours per week, usually around peak hours, with flexibility across opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Flexibility to work opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to engage with customers.
Ability to learn and apply technical and product-related information in a professional, consultative manner.
Ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds, or 100 pounds with assistance.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry.
Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide a high-quality experience.
Build customer relationships by asking questions, listening to customer needs, and fostering a welcoming and reassuring environment.
Educate customers about cannabis products and their varying effects on the human body to help them select products.
Use effective selling and cross-selling techniques to build baskets.
Verify customer documentation and identification.
Help verify that orders dispensed to customers are accurate and completed promptly.
Label and package customer orders.
Handle cash accurately in the company Point of Sale system and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain accurate records of dispensary activities, including customer records, sales, deliveries, and returns, in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
Perform routine inventory counts.
Keep product stock organized and compliant with applicable regulations.
Help managers organize sales-floor merchandise and product displays.
Follow company procedures for store security and safety compliance.
Help maintain a clean and organized store environment for customers and team members.
Escalate employee or customer issues to management.
