About The Position

Retail Sales Associates help New Balance retail stores operate smoothly while providing exemplary customer service. They use expert product knowledge and appropriate selling techniques to assist customers throughout the transaction process and represent the New Balance brand positively. The role includes helping customers find and fit suitable products, maintaining the sales floor, handling transactions, and following safety and product-protection procedures. This is a seasonal position in Merrimack, New Hampshire.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to perform basic math quickly.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 pounds frequently and a maximum of 8 pounds occasionally; move product boxes weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance if necessary; kneel or squat frequently; stand for extended periods; climb ladders occasionally; and climb and descend stairs frequently, depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using product knowledge, selling techniques, and the GUEST service model: greet customers, understand their needs, educate them about product features and benefits, solve problems or answer questions, and transact sales through suggestive selling, multiple selling, and effective closing.
• Measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Keep the sales floor neat, organized, well stocked, and presentable.
• Ensure items are properly labeled and price marked.
• Protect products by greeting customers, attaching or detaching security tags, monitoring merchandise, and reporting shrinkage and security violations.
• Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and promptly report accidents and near misses.
