Retail Sales Associate
About The Position
Eldora is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging all customers, and assisting them with locating merchandise. The associate will also be responsible for generating sales, staying current on product knowledge, completing sales utilizing the POS system with accuracy and efficiency, and maintaining awareness of all promotions, sales, and advertising. Eldora is a mountain playground located near Nederland, Colorado, offering memorable outdoor adventures to locals and visitors. The resort employs up to 700 people in peak season and features extensive terrain for skiing and snowboarding, as well as a Nordic Center. This role is a seasonal position with potential fluctuations in hours based on business volume.
Requirements
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Customer Service experience preferred but not required.
- Retail experience preferred but not required.
- Inventory Experience preferred.
- Prior POS experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Working on the sales floor with the retail sales team.
- Working with retail sales peers to reach sales goals throughout the operating season.
- Familiarizing yourself with knowledge of goods and services of the mountain to better direct and assist guests with choices; actively pursuing opportunities for sales.
- Listening to and taking care of guests under time constraints; determining the needs of the guest and providing service.
- Answering the phone as if the guest was in person, taking detailed notes of the inquiry, helping the guest or finding a supervisor that can.
- Understanding all procedures for POS sales.
- Attending and following weekly safety meetings, engaging and interacting as a team.
- Theft Prevention.
- Learning about ski and snowboard retail products, mountain terrain, and resort policies.
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.
- Supporting Eldora’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in the Sustainable Transportation Program.
