About The Position

EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member (Pawnbroker) for its EZPawn store at 1804 Southmost, Brownsville, Texas 78521. The role offers a career path in a fast-paced retail environment, with opportunities to develop skills and advance from Trainee to Pawnbroker, Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader), and Assistant Manager. Trainees complete a five-week paid training program and receive a $0.50 raise and promotion to Pawnbroker upon completion. Employees can also enter a Pawnbroker Certification Program for an additional $1 per hour. The Assistant Manager path includes a six-month training program.

The position involves daily customer interaction, supporting sales, and reaching mutually satisfying agreements with customers regarding pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members help provide a friendly, courteous, and respectful store environment. Pay is competitive and based on experience, with opportunities to increase pay and position, plus uncapped monthly bonus potential based on store and individual performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask.
• Self-motivation, a positive and outgoing personality, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test after a conditional offer.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
• Sales background.
• Bilingual ability.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent service by interacting with them in person and over the phone.
