About The Position
Sun Tan City is seeking a part-time Retail Sales Associate to provide friendly, professional client service in a fast-paced salon environment. The role involves understanding clients’ needs, recommending tanning and wellness products and services, and meeting minimum sales requirements. Associates also clean tanning equipment and maintain the cleanliness of salon areas. The position may require working independently during shifts as business needs require. The posting lists compensation of $12.50 per hour and describes a base rate of $11.50 per hour or more plus performance bonuses, with average earnings of $15.50 per hour for team members meeting performance and training criteria; the average is not guaranteed. Requirements
- Basic computer skills and knowledge.
- Ability to provide professional customer service and build relationships with clients.
- Ability to recommend products and services and meet minimum sales requirements.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced salon environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to bend at the waist and bend down to clean equipment and pick up items from floors.
- Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes.
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
- Ability to work independently and alone during shifts as business needs require.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent, professional customer service and ensure clients’ needs are met.
- Build positive client relationships and understand and respond to clients’ needs.
- Recommend products and services to clients.
- Meet minimum sales requirements.
- Use basic computer skills and knowledge.
- Clean tanning beds as clients leave while engaging with arriving clients.
- Maintain cleanliness in tanning rooms, the lobby, restrooms, laundry, and storage areas.
- Work cohesively with the team in an upbeat, fast-paced salon environment and follow company policies and procedures.
