About The Position

Retail Sales Associates help New Balance retail stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. With product knowledge and appropriate selling techniques, they assist customers throughout the transaction process and represent the New Balance brand positively. The role uses the GUEST service model: greet customers, understand their needs, educate them about product features and benefits, solve problems or answer questions, and transact sales through suggestive selling, multiple selling, and effective closing. This is a seasonal position.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Familiarity with cash register functions.
Ability to perform basic math quickly.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
Ability to frequently lift 4 lbs. and occasionally lift a maximum of 8 lbs.
Ability to move product boxes weighing up to 50 lbs., with assistance if necessary.
Ability to kneel or squat frequently, stand for extended periods, climb ladders occasionally, and frequently climb and descend stairs, depending on location.

Past retail experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service using proper selling techniques, product knowledge, and the GUEST service model.
Measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
Inform customers about current promotions.
Keep the sales floor neat, organized, and well stocked.
Ensure items are correctly labeled and price marked.
Protect products by greeting customers, attaching and detaching security tags, monitoring merchandise, and reporting shrinkage or security violations.
Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and promptly report accidents and near misses.
