About The Position

Provides assistance in the day-to-day duties of cashier or clerk for a Goodwill store. To fulfill Goodwill’s mission statement. This role is crucial in furthering Goodwill's vision and mission in their retail operations.

Responsibilities

Sorts clothing and textiles items.
Hangs clothing and puts out wares or other saleable items.
Visually inspects clothing and performs stock rotation.
Cleans store which includes wares shelves, floor, restrooms, etc.
Responds to customer requests in person or on the phone.
Assists with receiving donations.
Operates cash registers, makes change and bags merchandise.
Helps keep the store clean and attractive.
Provides excellent customer service at all times.
Rings sales on the cash register, makes correct change, and bags merchandise.
Changes hanging merchandise as needed.
Pulls merchandise as instructed.
Performs administrative and record keeping duties in the absence of the store manager and/or assistant manager, including preparing store reports, making daily deposits, and maintaining employee purchase forms.
Sorts, inspects, and prepares clothing and textile items for sale.
Hangs clothing items appropriately.
Inspects clothing racks on the sales floor and removes unsaleable items.
Pushes rolling racks of hanging clothing items to the sales floor.
Cleans wares shelves and removes unsaleable items.
Handles wares and electrical items, placing them on shelves.
Answers telephone and customer questions about basic store operations.
Assists individuals making donations.
Maintains helpful and courteous relations with all persons who come into the store and co-workers.
Maintains store goals as instructed by the store manager.
Observes company rules and regulations regarding cash handling, check cashing, and employee purchases.
Observes safety and security precautions at all times.
Sorts, pairs, and inspects shoes, discarding unrepairable or outdated shoes.
Follows all safety policies and fire prevention procedures.
Attends required meetings.
Adheres to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records.
Responsible for the safety and well-being of all employees.
Supports the mission statement and activities of other departments.
Supports the accessibility of services and facilities.
Greets customers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
