About The Position

EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member (Pawnbroker) for its EZPawn store in Hammond, Indiana. The role offers a career path beginning with a five-week paid training program; upon completion, trainees receive a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Employees can continue into a Pawnbroker Certification Program for an additional $1 per hour, pursue Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader) opportunities, and apply for Assistant Manager positions that include a six-month training program. Pay is based on experience, from $14.00 to $15.00 per hour, with bonus potential.

The associate interacts with customers daily, assisting with sales and reaching mutually satisfying agreements concerning pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. The role is part of the store customer service team and is responsible for providing a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, positive, outgoing, and possessing a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to multitask.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug test after a conditional offer.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
• Sales background.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent service, interacting with them in person and by phone.
