Retail Sales Associate Full Time
About The Position
The Retail Sales Associate promotes and sells BJ’s membership programs, supports membership acquisition and retention, and provides excellent, efficient service to members. The role also handles membership and credit card questions and applications, merchandise returns and exchanges, product lookups, pickups, and other general service inquiries. Associates follow club policies and procedures, help maintain a safe and positive member experience, and may assist in other departments as needed. This position requires regular, predictable, full attendance. Work is primarily indoors and involves frequently remaining stationary on hard surfaces, with occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, stooping, and lifting. The role may involve lifting objects up to 50 pounds and moving heavier or awkward objects with assistance.
Requirements
- Prior front-line customer service or sales experience is preferred.
- Results-driven, with demonstrated success in achieving goals.
- Basic math skills are preferred.
- Computer proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Promote BJ’s membership acquisition, retention, upgrades, cross-selling, and member benefits.
- Pitch membership programs and sell membership products to potential new and existing members in accordance with company policies and practices.
- Work toward business-established membership goals and benchmarks.
- Understand BJ’s membership options and co-branded credit card offerings.
- Serve as a first point of contact for membership matters, credit card applications, general questions, issues, merchandise returns and exchanges, product lookups, and pickups.
- Follow tax-exempt and resale membership retention policies and procedures, including monitoring renewals and tax-exempt or resale status.
- Resolve member concerns courteously and promptly, escalating issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary.
- Assist with Buy Online and Pick Up In Club (BOPIC) orders.
- Maintain club policies and procedures and support compliance.
- Contribute to a safe, positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for members and team members.
- Help deliver daily GOLD Member and club standards, including friendly service, stocked merchandise, promotional execution, accurate signage, and clean, organized spaces.
- Understand how to access and read department production or financial performance reporting and how execution affects business results.
- Perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
