About The Position

Retail Sales Associates help ensure New Balance retail stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. With product knowledge and appropriate selling techniques, they assist customers throughout the transaction process and positively represent the New Balance brand. Associates use the GUEST service model to greet customers, understand and educate them about product needs and features, solve problems, and complete transactions through suggestive and multiple selling and effective closing.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to perform basic math quickly.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 lbs. frequently and a maximum of 8 lbs. occasionally; move product boxes up to 50 lbs. with assistance if necessary; kneel or squat frequently; stand for extended periods; climb ladders occasionally; and climb and descend stairs frequently, depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using product knowledge, proper selling techniques, and the GUEST service model.
• Measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Keep the sales floor neat, organized, and well stocked.
• Ensure items are labeled and price marked properly.
• Protect products by greeting customers, managing security tags, monitoring merchandise, and reporting shrinkage or security violations.
• Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and promptly report accidents and near misses.
