About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate promotes BJ’s membership programs and delivers efficient, helpful service to members. The role includes acquiring, renewing, and upgrading memberships; cross-selling membership benefits and co-brand credit cards; and assisting with merchandise returns, exchanges, pick-ups, and other service inquiries. The associate supports club policies and procedures, helps maintain a safe and positive member experience, and works with the team to meet business goals and daily club standards. The stated schedule is Wednesday through Friday between 2 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with open availability on weekends.

Requirements

• Prior front-line/customer service or sales experience is preferred.
• Results-driven approach with proven success in achieving goals.
• Basic math skills are preferred.
• Computer proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote BJ’s value proposition, membership acquisition and retention, perks, and the member experience.
• Pitch and sell membership programs to potential new and existing members in accordance with company policies and practices.
• Work toward business-established sales benchmarks and results.
• Understand BJ’s membership options and co-brand credit card.
• Assist members with membership questions, credit card applications, general inquiries, merchandise returns, exchanges, product lookups, and pick-ups.
• Follow tax-exempt and resale membership retention policies and procedures, including monitoring renewals and tax-exempt or resale status.
• Resolve member concerns courteously and promptly, escalating issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary.
• Assist with BOPIC (Buy Online and Pick Up In Club) orders.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Support a safe, positive, inclusive environment and deliver daily GOLD Member Standards and club standards.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
