Retail Sales Associate – Full Time
About The Position
AutoZone store teams provide frontline customer service, help customers find automotive parts and solutions, maintain well-stocked inventory, and support store operations. The Retail Sales Associate delivers WOW! Customer Service by exceeding customer expectations and helping create a positive, knowledgeable retail environment. The role offers opportunities for growth while serving the motoring public in the automotive industry. The associate assists customers with product selection and automotive advice, recommends products and promotions, contributes to sales goals, maintains merchandise and store organization, and follows cash-handling, loss-prevention, process, and safety policies. The role also includes helping customers with wiper blade, battery, and light bulb installations and using diagnostic tools to read vehicle codes and recommend solutions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts is required.
- Ability to lift, load, and deliver merchandise.
- Availability for a full-time flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Strong people skills and effective communication in both Spanish and English.
- Previous experience in automotive retail.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers, provide trustworthy automotive advice, and communicate clearly and professionally.
- Collaborate with managers and teammates to foster a motivated, productive store environment; support team members and demonstrate leadership in daily responsibilities.
- Recommend products, services, and promotions to improve the customer experience and contribute to sales goals and store performance metrics.
- Restock and organize merchandise, follow cash-handling and loss-prevention policies, and support smooth store operations.
- Use structured processes to complete tasks efficiently and follow company safety policies, including using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Stay current on automotive parts, tools, and promotions through AutoZone systems.
- Assist customers with wiper blade, battery, and light bulb installations.
- Use diagnostic tools to read codes from customer vehicles and recommend solutions.
- Lift, load, and deliver merchandise.
