About The Position

The Wellness Advisor at Sunnyside advises recreational and medicinal customers and caregivers on selecting cannabis products that meet their needs. The role represents the company’s mission to normalize, professionalize, and revolutionize cannabis while using customer service, product knowledge, and compliance with state regulations to provide a high-quality experience. The Wellness Advisor supports the customer lifecycle from check-in and consultation through order fulfillment and checkout, with regulatory and company compliance central to all work. The position offers training in cannabis product knowledge and industry compliance, guidance for handling varied customer interactions, and a consultative, personalized sales experience. The role combines problem-solving, inventory management, teamwork, technical skills, and customer service. Dispensaries are typically open seven days a week, and flexibility is valued across opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays. Part-time schedules are typically 15–25 hours per week and based around peak hours.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Flexibility to work shifts that may include opening, closing, weekends, and holidays.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage with customers.
Ability to learn and apply technical and product-related information in a professional, consultative manner.
Ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds, or 100 pounds with assistance.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must comply with legal and company regulations for working in the industry.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide a welcoming, high-quality experience.
Build customer relationships by asking questions, listening to needs, and fostering a reassuring environment.
Educate customers about cannabis products and their varying effects to help with product selection.
Use effective selling and cross-selling techniques to build customer baskets.
Verify customer identification and documentation.
Help verify that dispensed orders are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Label and package customer orders.
Handle cash accurately in the company Point of Sale system and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain accurate records of dispensary activities, including customer records, sales, deliveries, and returns, in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
Perform routine inventory counts and keep product stock organized and compliant.
Assist managers with sales floor merchandise and product displays.
Follow store security measures and safety requirements in accordance with company procedures.
Help keep the store clean and organized for customers and the team.
Escalate employee or customer issues to management.
