About The Position

EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member, also referred to as a Pawnbroker, for its EZPawn store in Laredo, Texas. The role provides a structured career path in a fast-paced retail environment, with paid training and opportunities to advance to Pawnbroker, Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader), and Assistant Manager. The five-week trainee program includes a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker upon completion. Employees may also enter the Pawnbroker Certification Program for an additional $1 per hour. The Assistant Manager path includes a six-month training program.

The position involves daily customer interaction and helping customers with sales and pawn transactions involving items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to create a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer service environment. Compensation is based on experience and includes potential monthly bonuses tied to store and individual performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, with a positive and outgoing personality and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test after a conditional offer.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
• Sales background.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by greeting and interacting with customers in person and by phone.
• Process sales, loans, and extensions.
• Perform store opening and closing duties.
• Help customers reach mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items.
