About The Position

Wild About Music is a woman-owned Music Lifestyle store that has been in operation for 25 years. We offer a wide selection of gifts, original artwork, and apparel dedicated to music, and are a dealer for Luna & Dean guitars and ukuleles, as well as unique handmade music accessories. We aim to foster a harmonious and safe environment for both employees and customers, celebrating the spirit of music through art and gifts.

Requirements

• Sales experience in a retail environment.
• Love and knowledge of music and Austin.
• Knowledge of guitars/ukuleles or an interest in learning about them.
• Comfortable talking to strangers, usually about a shared love of music.
• Ability to work and communicate well with staff members.
• Ability to lift and maneuver fixtures and product as necessary.
• Must be able to work 24 hours per week, 3 days per week. Scheduled hours may change weekly but will be a mix of opening/closing shifts between 10 am and 10 pm.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greeting each person individually to make them feel welcome.
• Maintain a presentable and clean store, continuously restocking merchandise and cleaning as appropriate.
• Check in and merchandise product as assigned by supervisor on duty.
• Maintain safety standards by keeping walkways clear.
• Work 8 hours a day on your feet and lift/shift boxes of shipment.
• Interact positively with Louis, the store cat.
