Retail Sales Associate
About The Position
The Retail Sales Associate assists clients in resort shops with questions and purchases, and helps ensure that shops are clean, organized, and stocked. The role sells, tickets, and displays merchandise in the Golf Shop and other resort retail outlets, welcomes customers, provides guest and club member service, and processes transactions accurately, including following cash-handling procedures and operating standards. The associate supports the Director of Retail with inventory controls, merchandise receiving, storage and display organization, monitoring stock levels, communicating merchandise needs, and following up on special orders. The position also performs closing duties and daily shop assignments, assists coworkers and guests, and responds to complaints professionally. Employees may be asked to help with other tasks or work schedules in other resort retail outlets as needed.
Requirements
- Customer service experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively using proper grammar.

- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, reach and handle objects, and use a computer, keyboard, and desktop items.

- Ability to understand and communicate clearly with guests, members, and coworkers in person or by phone.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Sell, ticket, and display merchandise in the Golf Shop and other resort retail outlets.
- Welcome customers enthusiastically and assist with their merchandise needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide high standards of service to resort guests and club members; accurately ring up charges and follow proper cash-handling procedures and operating standards.
- Remain attentive to member and guest needs and behave calmly, professionally, and courteously under pressure.
- Assist the Director of Retail with inventory controls, merchandise check-in, and organization of storage and display areas.
- Monitor stock levels of regularly stocked merchandise and communicate merchandise needs to the Director of Retail.
- Follow up on special orders and notify customers when orders arrive, following established procedures.
- Perform close-of-business functions according to Club guidelines and procedures.
- Complete daily assignments to Club standards, including keeping work areas organized, arranging entry areas, and picking up trash or debris.
- Assist fellow Employee Partners, members, and guests to support exceptional service and participate as a team member.
- Notify a supervisor of member or guest complaints and attempt to resolve complaints promptly through service recovery.
- Help with other tasks or schedules in other resort retail outlets as needed.
- Follow company, club, and department standards, policies, procedures, manuals, memos, and instructions.
- Maintain good conduct and safe working habits, and help ensure others act safely.
- Wear a clean, neat uniform that meets property standards.
