Retail Sales Associate
About The Position
EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member (Pawnbroker) at Value Pawn & Jewelry. The role provides a structured career path in a fast-paced retail environment, starting with a five-week paid trainee program. Successful completion brings a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Employees may continue through a Pawnbroker Certification Program for an additional $1 per hour, pursue promotion to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader), and apply for Assistant Manager, which includes a six-month training program. The position involves daily customer interaction and helping customers with sales and pawn transactions involving items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to provide a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer experience. Pay is based on experience, from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour, with monthly uncapped bonuses based on store and individual performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivation, a positive and outgoing personality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test after a conditional offer.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
- Sales background.
- Bilingual ability.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide excellent service in person and over the phone.
- Help customers with sales and reach mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items.
- Process sales, loans, and extensions.
- Perform store opening and closing duties.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
