About The Position

Gazaway Ace is a locally owned small business with locations in Paragould, Jonesboro, and Benton, AR. The Paragould store, established in 1963, offers a wide range of building materials and Ace Hardware's key departments including paint, electrical, plumbing, and tools. Our corporate offices are located at the Paragould store.

Requirements

Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
Skilled at providing prompt, friendly, and attentive customer service.
Strong organizational skills with a passion for details.
Willing to learn all areas of the store and help train others.
Proven track record of being a team player.
Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired.
A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
Availability must be flexible including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
High School or GED equivalent.
Cashier experience preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
Ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties.
Ability to move and handle merchandise up to 25 pounds, and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting.
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.

Responsibilities

Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise.
Maintain assigned departments by keeping them clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Execute daily operational goals and priorities assigned by store management with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Cooperate with others and work effectively as part of a retail team, sharing ideas for improvement with management.
Remove promotional bin tags from displays and price tags as required following sales events, flyers, etc.
Restock merchandise displays as needed and monitor end caps and side wings.
Handle special orders for all non-stock items, ensuring no customer is told 'no' without checking with a manager.
Watch for shoplifters and take action in line with company policy.
Provide excellent customer service by being helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Stand in main aisles to observe customers when not actively assisting them, and walk aisles to ensure customers in all departments are being assisted.
Serve customers in assigned departments or storewide, providing advice and information, and greeting customers promptly.
Actively participate in store communication and initiatives.
Assist customers with simple complaints and concerns, escalating problems to a manager as needed.
Be polite and attentive to customers, making eye contact and smiling.
Promote the Ace Rewards program, describe Ace Helpful Promises, and use the Magic Question.
Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements to inform customers about special sales.
Wear a radio and headset for effective communication with associates and management.
