About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate interacts with and assists customers, donors, and others with merchandise selection, suggestion selling, and cashiering in a courteous and professional manner. The role supports store operations through customer service, point-of-sale transactions, merchandising, restocking, and general floor maintenance. The position is part-time and pays $17.13 per hour.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• Ability to learn new technology and software related to the job.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Fine motor control sufficient to grasp, handle, and manipulate objects with fingers.
• Ability to stand for long periods and frequently bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, and push.
• Ability to climb ladders and travel across stairs, ramps, and uneven terrain.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including with people who have limited English skills.
• Reliable attendance.
• Ability to organize, sort, categorize, count, add, subtract, interpret data, solve problems, and communicate with the public.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduation or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively acknowledge, greet, and help customers in any area of the store.
• Assist customers and donors in a timely and courteous manner by answering questions or directing them to a supervisor.
• Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions; close out the cash drawer and balance point-of-sale transactions.
• Communicate through standard telephone and wireless audio systems.
• Merchandise, restock, and provide general floor maintenance as needed.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Support team members and assist supervisors and leads when necessary.
• Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Demonstrate safe work practices, observe safety practices, and report potential hazards or accidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
