About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate promotes BJ’s membership programs, including acquisition, renewal, upgrades, and cross-selling, while providing efficient member service. The role also supports merchandise returns, exchanges, pick-ups, and customer service inquiries. Associates follow club policies and procedures, contribute to a safe and positive environment, and work collaboratively to achieve goals and maintain the club’s service and presentation standards. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Promote BJ’s value proposition, membership acquisition, retention, perks, and member experience.
• Pitch membership programs to potential members and sell membership products to new and existing members.
• Work toward business-established benchmarks and sales goals.
• Understand BJ’s membership options and co-brand credit card.
• Assist members with membership questions, credit card applications, general inquiries, merchandise returns and exchanges, product lookups, and pick-ups.
• Follow tax-exempt/resale membership retention policies and procedures, including monitoring renewals and tax-exempt/resale status.
• Resolve member concerns courteously and promptly; escalate issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary.
• Assist with Buy Online and Pick Up In Club (BOPIC) orders.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support compliance.
• Work in other departments and perform other duties as assigned.
• Deliver GOLD member standards: Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate; provide fast, friendly service; and support full, fresh, clean club standards.
• Work with the team to maintain a grand-opening look, stock items, execute promotional plans, maintain accurate signage, and keep the club clean and organized.
• Understand how to access and read department production or financial performance reporting.
