About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate promotes BJ’s membership programs, including acquisition, renewals, upgrades, and cross-selling, while providing efficient member service. The role also supports merchandise returns, exchanges, pick-ups, membership and credit card inquiries, and other general customer service needs. Associates follow club policies and procedures, contribute to a safe and positive member experience, and work with the team to maintain daily GOLD service and club standards. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Prior front-line/customer service or sales experience is preferred.
• Results-driven, with demonstrated success in achieving goals.
• Basic math skills are preferred.
• Computer proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote BJ’s membership value proposition, including acquisition, retention, member perks, and the member experience.
• Pitch and sell membership programs to potential and existing members in accordance with company policies and practices.
• Work toward business-established goals and benchmarks for membership sales.
• Understand BJ’s membership options and co-brand credit card.
• Provide first-line assistance with membership questions, credit card applications, general inquiries, merchandise returns, exchanges, product lookups, and pick-ups.
• Follow tax-exempt and resale membership retention policies and procedures, including monitoring renewals and tax-exempt/resale status.
• Resolve member concerns courteously and promptly, escalating issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary.
• Assist with Buy Online and Pick Up In Club (BOPIC) orders.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and help deliver daily GOLD standards.
• Work in other departments and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
