About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate adheres to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple areas to support business needs.

The role supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; accurately handles customer purchases and returns; promotes credit and loyalty programs; processes merchandise for the sales floor; and participates in merchandising, store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction activities. The associate also follows applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures and performs other duties as assigned.

This is a temporary, part-time position at the TJ Maxx store in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. The title indicates a 6 a.m. schedule, but specific hours and days are not provided. Starting pay is $13.75 to $14.25 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.

• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Follow the merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to labor laws, company policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
