About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate promotes BJ’s membership programs, supports member acquisition and retention, and provides assistance with membership renewals, upgrades, cross-selling, merchandise returns and exchanges, pickups, and general service inquiries. The role delivers efficient, courteous service and helps resolve member concerns, escalating issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary. It also supports BOPIC orders and maintains club policies, procedures, and service standards. The associate may perform other duties or work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Promote the BJ’s value proposition, including membership acquisition, retention, perks, and the member experience.
• Pitch membership programs and sell membership products to prospective and existing members.
• Work toward business benchmarks and membership sales goals.
• Understand BJ’s membership options and co-brand credit card offerings.
• Serve as a first point of contact for membership and credit card applications, questions, issues, returns, exchanges, product lookups, and pickups.
• Follow tax-exempt and resale membership retention policies and procedures, including monitoring renewals and status.
• Resolve member concerns courteously and promptly, escalating issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary.
• Assist members with BOPIC (Buy Online and Pick Up In Club) orders.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support club standards, including stocked merchandise, promotional plans, accurate signage, and clean, organized spaces.
• Support a safe, positive, inclusive environment and deliver GOLD Member Standards.
• Work in other departments and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
