About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate promotes and sells BJ’s membership programs, including acquisitions, renewals, upgrades, and related offerings, while providing efficient, courteous service to members. The role also supports merchandise returns, exchanges, pick-ups, BOPIC orders, credit card applications, and general customer service inquiries. Associates follow club policies and procedures, help maintain a safe and positive environment, and contribute to daily GOLD member and club standards. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Prior front-line or customer-service experience, or previous sales experience, is preferred.
• Results-driven, with demonstrated success achieving goals.
• Basic math skills are preferred.
• Computer proficiency is preferred.
• Ability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds; heavier or awkward objects may need to be moved with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Promote BJ’s membership value proposition, including acquisition, retention, perks, and member experience.
• Pitch membership programs and sell membership products to potential new and existing members in accordance with company policies and practices.
• Work toward business-established goals and benchmarks.
• Understand BJ’s membership options and co-brand credit card offerings.
• Provide member service for membership matters, credit card applications, questions, issues, merchandise returns and exchanges, product lookups, and pick-ups.
• Follow tax-exempt and resale membership policies and procedures, including monitoring renewals and tax-exempt or resale status.
• Resolve member concerns courteously and promptly, escalating issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary.
• Assist with Buy Online and Pick Up In Club (BOPIC) orders.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support a safe, positive environment.
• Work with the team to meet daily GOLD member and club standards, including greeting members and maintaining stocked merchandise, accurate signage, and clean, organized spaces.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
