About The Position

EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member (Pawnbroker) for its El Bufalo store in Laredo, Texas. The role provides daily customer interaction in a fast-paced retail environment, helping customers with sales and negotiating mutually satisfying agreements involving pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to create a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer experience.

The position offers a structured career path. New hires begin as trainees in a paid five-week training program; completing it earns a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Employees may pursue Pawnbroker Certification for an additional $1 per hour, advance to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader), and apply for Assistant Manager, which includes a six-month training program.

Compensation is based on experience and includes the opportunity for increases, plus monthly uncapped bonuses based on store and individual performance. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask.
• Pass a criminal background check and drug test after receiving a conditional offer.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Be self-motivated, have a positive and outgoing personality, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent service by interacting with them in person and over the phone.
• Process sales, loans, and extensions.
• Perform store opening and closing duties.
• Help customers reach mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items.
