About The Position

Retail Sale Associates help New Balance retail stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. They use expert product knowledge and proper selling techniques to assist customers throughout the transaction process while positively representing the New Balance brand. The role includes helping customers find and fit appropriate products, maintaining the sales floor, protecting merchandise, and following safety procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to perform basic math quickly.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 pounds frequently and a maximum of 8 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to kneel or squat frequently; move product boxes up to 50 pounds with assistance if necessary; stand for extended periods; climb ladders occasionally; and climb and descend stairs frequently, depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using the GUEST service model: greet customers, understand their needs, educate them about product features and benefits, solve problems or answer questions, and complete transactions through suggestive selling, multiple selling, and effective closing.
• Correctly measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Keep the sales floor neat, organized, well stocked, and looking its best.
• Ensure items are properly labeled and price marked.
• Protect products by greeting customers, attaching and detaching security tags, monitoring merchandise, and reporting shrinkage and security violations.
• Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and promptly report accidents and near misses.
