About The Position

This position is responsible for various tasks within the retail distribution center, including inducting and packing merchandise, ensuring inventory accuracy, operating RF equipment, and performing picking and put-away duties. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, the ability to learn new tasks, and strong attention to detail. The employee will work in a warehouse environment and must be able to handle physical demands and operate various handling equipment.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of a shipping a plus.
  • Working knowledge in the use of warehouse technology including radio-frequency (RF) scanners to perform daily functions is a plus.
  • Previous warehouse/distribution/production experience helpful.
  • Basic knowledge of computer PC skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Expected to know job functions over multiple departments and step into departments with backlogs as directed by management.
  • Induct merchandise to sorter trays using standard operating procedures while meeting expected productivity rates.
  • Pack merchandise from RSU sorter into store boxes using standard operating procedures while meeting expected productivity rates.
  • Ensure use of standard operating procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Using approved shipping process of outbound store and ecommerce cartons produce the correct shipping label and sort outbound boxes based on the shipping method to be used.
  • Perform the packing of ecommerce orders using the standard operating procedure and meeting expected productivity rates, with the ability to use multiple packaging techniques.
  • Bring any issues or discrepancies in processing to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Operate a hand-held radio-frequency scanner (RF equipment) to process merchandise.
  • Make boxes as needed.
  • Ability to learn and retain instructions covering a wide variety of tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervision.
  • Perform picking duties based on standard operating procedures while meeting productivity rates.
  • Perform put-away duties based on standard operating procedures while meeting productivity rates.
  • Ensure the timely picking of merchandise and products from designated areas to fill specific store needs and customer orders.
  • Select, gather, move, and inspect merchandise and products from one location to another.
  • Move customer orders through a put to order process using standard operations procedures while meeting productivity rates.
  • Ensure the exact count and type of merchandise picked and put away from or into inventory locations.
  • Ensure the quality of the merchandise and products are accurate and free of damage.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy of merchandise and products in the proper inventory locations.
  • Make supervisor aware of any large inventory discrepancies or issues found in daily processing of work.
  • Accurately perform procedures using company computer systems as needed.
  • Bring product with missing tags to the attention of the supervisor. Tag or re-tag merchandise as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

  • The rate for this position is $16 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary.
