About The Position

Our mission is to Change Lives through the Power of Work! This role is for a Full Time Retail Production Worker. The primary responsibility is the sorting and pricing of donated goods and materials. Job functions include textiles and hardlines processing, operating a pump cart and stacker, assembling/disassembling containers, and operating a compactor. The role requires medium work, occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force and/or up to 25 pounds of lifting, with frequent lifting up to 10 pounds. The work environment is generally inside 100%, but may include outside work on occasion, with routine work environment and periods of isolated high stress. Short deadlines may require some overtime. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, as is a minimum of one year of experience in retail operations. Core competencies include providing positive customer relations, interacting and working with individuals referred for training, thinking independently in the supervisor's absence, meeting production goals, and demonstrating quality control and accuracy. Adherence to Kaizen principles, including the 6S Checklist, procedures, signage, and layout, is expected. Availability to work after-hours for special projects and weekends/holidays is also required.

Requirements

  • Making proper use of available space and materials
  • Operating compactor
  • Recognizing and following proper material content
  • Knowing the mechanical operation of the compactor
  • Understanding and demonstrating safe operation of the compactor
