About The Position

This is a part-time, hourly position focused on the sorting and pricing of donated goods and materials. The role supports the mission of changing lives through the power of work and operates within a caring and inclusive culture that supports a great cause. The position offers family-friendly hours, a flexible schedule, and is closed on major holidays. Some overtime may be required due to short deadlines.

Requirements

Ability to provide positive internal and external customer relations.
Ability to easily interact and work with individuals referred for training.
Ability to think independently in supervisor’s absence.
Ability to meet production goals.
Ability to demonstrate quality control and accuracy with sorting and pricing guidelines.
Ability to follow 6S Checklist, procedures, signage, and layout (Kaizen principles).

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in retail operations preferred.

Responsibilities

Sorting and pricing of donated goods and materials.
Following established sorting and pricing guidelines.
Recognizing name brand, vintage, and collectible items.
Sizing and hanging textiles.
Differentiating materials and placing them in proper containers, z-racks, etc.
Receiving donated items and sorting them by category.
Operating a pump cart and stacker to move containers, totes, etc.
Assembling/disassembling containers, gaylords, and kit bins.
Making proper use of available space and materials.
Operating a compactor, recognizing and following proper material content, knowing its mechanical operation, and understanding and demonstrating safe operation.
