About The Position

This role owns all cut and sew and accessories production for Global's Retail programs and initiatives, from purchase order through final delivery. The Production Manager ensures a smooth and uninterrupted production and manufacturing process in accordance with the compliance and fulfillment requirements of our retail customers and partners. The position works directly with overseas and Mexico factories on a daily basis, managing production timelines, inspection and testing, packaging and compliance review, and international shipment routing through to warehouse delivery. Strong factory relationship management and the ability to resolve issues under deadline pressure are central to the role. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as all Google Documents is vital. The individual must be accountable for their workload, escalate issues promptly and appropriately, problem solve effectively, and work well as a team player.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in apparel or accessories production, including cut and sew.
  • Direct experience working with international factories and managing international production timelines.
  • Working knowledge of inspection, testing and compliance processes, including third party inspection platforms.
  • International logistics knowledge including BOL, port and freight coordination.
  • Retailer based vendor compliance knowledge required.
  • Experience in Business Central, PLM or comparable ERP systems.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and meet strict deadlines across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Ability to identify errors, identify queries and assist with problem solving.
  • Numerate and highly skilled in Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of retail math and costing.
  • High degree of attention to detail with accurate data entry and proficient administration skills.
  • Ability to adapt to fast paced environment and accommodate overseas time zones as required.
  • Either MAC or PC usage will be needed.
  • Time management.

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
  • Adobe Suite experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cut and sew and accessories production for Global's retail programs.
  • Own the end to end production process for all cut and sew and accessories orders, from purchase order receipt through final delivery.
  • Issue production WIP reports to factories twice monthly and maintain accurate status across all open orders.
  • Manage production timelines and extensions, communicating on-track status and escalating delays before ship windows are at risk.
  • Respond to factory questions and resolve production issues as they arise.
  • Oversee purchase order issuance and trim ordering completed by the Production Coordinator.
  • Create and manage SILQ inspection requests, assigned at the outset of each program.
  • Coordinate inspection dates with the factory and confirm inspection submissions are completed.
  • Review inspection reports and drive corrective action where results fall short.
  • Confirm SOC documentation and product testing requirements are met.
  • Review packaging and retailer compliance requirements and respond to compliance queries.
  • Generate carton labels and packing slips through customer’s portal or in general.
  • Route orders at the start of each week and maintain the routing schedule.
  • Request and track bills of lading and bills of materials.
  • Track BOL and port dates through to arrival.
  • Route shipments and notify the Anaheim warehouse of inbound deliveries for flow orders.
  • Coordinate with freight partners on delivery timing and approvals.
  • Serve as the primary day to day point of contact for cut and sew and accessories factories, including communication via WeChat or WhatsApp and other channels used by international partners.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with factory partners across multiple time zones.
  • Escalate vendor performance issues to the Sr. Retail Production Manager.
  • Supervise the Production Coordinator, including setting priorities, providing direction, and supporting development.
  • Approve timecards and time off requests for direct reports, ensuring meal and rest period requirements are met for non-exempt staff.
  • Work in tandem with Product Development, Pre-Production and Fit, Retail Sales and Accounting to ensure orders progress without interruption.
  • Maintain production records and documentation in company systems.
  • Approve factory invoices, making sure all information is accurate.
  • Escalate employee relations, accommodation, leave and compensation matters to Human Resources.
