About The Position

Cardinal Health is seeking a motivated technician for a company-owned retail contract pharmacy. Technicians are crucial in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care to underserved communities. This role involves building relationships with patients and assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions. This is a per diem position that requires flexibility to cover paid time off (PTOs) and involves working in a community health center pharmacy setting. The pharmacy operates Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm, with Saturday hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The role requires bilingual Spanish proficiency.

Requirements

  • State Pharmacy Technician license or national pharmacy technician registration/license required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smartphones and tablets.
  • PTCB Certification or ability to get certified within 180 days of employment.
  • Bilingual - Must be able to read, write and speak both English and Spanish.

Nice To Haves

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts is preferred.
  • 340B experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional working relationships with pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel.
  • Understand that pharmacy work requirements are varied and may change.
  • Be available to customers/patients at all times.
  • Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude when dealing with customers.
  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Organize medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions, preparing labels, and calculating quantities.
  • Ensure medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work with the pharmacy team to ensure best practices are followed with regards to 340B.
