About The Position

St. Mary's Medical Center at HIMG is seeking a full time Retail Pharmacy Tech. Pharmacy technicians, under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of the pharmacist. Pharmacy technicians will function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 15 months of hire
• WV Pharmacy Technician or WV Pharmacy Technician in Training license required before hiring
• For a WV Technician in Training licensee, a test date for national certification must be scheduled within six (6) months of hire
• Any necessary subsequent scheduling of the national certification exam must be rescheduled within 90 days of the previous exam
• All WV Technician in Training licensees must have successfully passed the national certification, cleared the background check and completed 960 hours of on-the-job, competency-based education and training to become licensed as a WV Pharmacy Technician within 15 months of hire
• Satisfactory completion of the on-the-job pharmacy technician training program
• Typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m.
• Basic computer skills

• Ability to communicate with and present a pleasing personality to the public and the institutional staff
• Ability to acquire the appropriate knowledge and skills required
