Retail Pharmacy Tech - Uncert Prn
About The Position
This position is for a PRN (as needed) Retail Pharmacy Technician with varied shifts. The role requires the individual to be a registered Pharmacy Tech in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy, Owner(s), and all 3rd Party Payers within one year of employment. The individual must also be able to complete a Certified Pharmacy Tech program within one year of employment. The Iowa Board of Pharmacy has an age requirement of 18 years for certification testing. The role also requires current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification, which new employees must obtain within three months of their hire date. Effective communication, teamwork, basic math skills, and strong computer knowledge are essential for this position. The technician must be competent in all assigned areas and willing to pursue further education or certification as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or at least 17 years of age and able to provide proof of high school diploma within 1 year of employment.
- Must be able and willing to complete Certified Pharmacy Tech program within 1 year of employment.
- Must be a registered Pharmacy Tech (within 1 year of employment) and in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy, Owner(s) and with all 3rd Party Payers.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others.
- Ability to communicate well verbally.
- Must work effectively as a member of a team.
- Skilled with basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, addition and multiplication; Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Strong computer knowledge

- Must be competent in all assigned areas.
- Willingness to complete further education or certification as required by the department.
- Must demonstrate leadership and effective communication skills as required for this position.
