About The Position

As our Retail Pharmacist you will optimize the delivery of retail pharmaceutical care, ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe dispensing of medications while upholding the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. You'll play a critical role in achieving departmental financial and customer service objectives through your clinical expertise and operational excellence. Every day you will meticulously process prescription orders, encompassing data entry, comprehensive drug utilization review (DUR) to identify potential interactions and allergies, and precise final product verification. You'll engage directly with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, providing vital medication counseling and education in accordance with state laws. Additionally, you'll consult with insurance providers for authorization, clarify prescriptions with medical providers, and expertly manage ancillary staff workflow, all while ensuring adherence to inventory management and customer service goals.

Requirements

  • Valid pharmacist license.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of retail pharmacy operations, including dispensing, counseling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in drug utilization review.
  • Knowledge of medication safety protocols.
  • Current knowledge of pharmaceutical information technology systems.
  • Highly organized, customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Cultural competence.
  • Proactive approach to maintaining best practices in pharmacy care.
  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Active Pharmacist License in good standing in the State of Nebraska.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) with the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities
