About The Position

This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department during in-person hours, including training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies. The position also provides centralized operational and clinical support remotely. The primary responsibility is to implement and adhere to the Kinney Standard of Practice, ensuring the highest quality health care service for customers. Limited travel may be required for business and management conferences.

Requirements

  • BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy.
  • Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
  • Ability to stand/walk throughout the majority of the shift.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment and/or random drug screening test.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions and counsel patients following the Kinney Standard of Practice.
  • Perform quality assurance steps to ensure accurate prescription dispensing and report dispensing incidents.
  • Adhere to all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Oversee the submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims.
  • Manage and balance pharmacy inventory for maximum turns while maintaining stock levels.
  • Oversee the transmitting, processing, and receiving of orders from suppliers.
  • Oversee the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing of returns.
  • Ensure prescription files and other records are maintained according to state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure in-store pharmacy technology is utilized to its fullest potential.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees.
  • Ensure all loss prevention policies are followed and report deviations.
  • Assist in the implementation of all corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising, and promotional programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with doctors and other health service professionals.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Facilitate communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within those guidelines.
  • Assist in the training and development of all pharmacy department personnel.
  • Interface with various auditors and outside agencies.
  • Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Process/verify prescriptions remotely and provide prospective DUR support.
  • Complete remote prescriber/patient outreach, resolve insurance/coverage issues, and support immunization/clinical scheduling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
