About The Position

The Retail Pet Store Associate provides customer service and pet care support in a neighborhood pet supply store. The role helps pet parents choose products suited to their pets, supports store operations, and helps maintain clean, organized displays and services. Team members receive ongoing training in product knowledge and pet care, with opportunities to develop skills and grow into leadership or specialized store roles.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and stock products and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
• Help customers find suitable products, including pet food, based on their pets’ needs.
• Make thoughtful product recommendations.
• Operate the point-of-sale system, process transactions, and handle returns.
• Promote store specials, loyalty programs, and current offers.
• Stock shelves, manage inventory, and keep displays organized.
• Lift and stock bags of pet food and other supplies.
• Assist customers with self-wash stations and explain how to use them.
• Restock bathing supplies and keep the store clean and welcoming.
• Provide occasional walk-in nail trims after training.
