About The Position

The Retail Parts Pro is a professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the do-it-yourself (DIY) business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, parts, store inventory, and maintenance processes. The Retail Parts Pro identifies and troubleshoots customer needs, assists with projects, and sources parts through options such as special order, FDO, and second source. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

• Three to five years of prior automotive parts experience.
• Proven sales ability, with prior experience fulfilling customer transactions.
• Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability, including internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic systems, and exhaust.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals, and to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to understand and execute written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.
• Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
• Ability to perform basic math accurately using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Effective use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Spanish language ability.
• ASE certification.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the selling experience for DIY customers in person and by phone.
• Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
• Manage DIY services, including battery installation and testing, and wiper installation.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance.
• Perform key-holder duties, including assigning and completing tasks, supporting safety, and opening and closing the store.
• Assist with inventory processes, including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
• Provide DIY services, including battery installation and testing, and wiper installation.
